Debate: British Architecture Now - what do the 2012 RIBA Awards tell us?
The AJ will be hosting an evening of discussion and debate about the state of contemporary British architecture following the announcement of this year’s RIBA Awards
The event on 17 July, which is being run with the RIBA and in association with Sapa Building Systems, will feature a top-name line-up including Paul Finch, Murray Fraser, Alison Brooks, Edwin Heathcote, Rory Olcayto and very special guest Joseph Rykwert.
Join the AJ and its star panel in a lively debate on the look and feel of contemporary British architecture as they put this year’s RIBA award winners – the Stirling Prize longlist - under the microscope.
Following the format of the AJ’s annual RIBA Award-winners edition, each of the 50 UK RIBA Award winners and eight EU winners will be presented typologically with the panel reflecting upon the emerging trends. Joseph Rykwert will conclude the evening by presenting long view, placing todays best architecture in the wider historical context.
There will be a drinks reception after the 75 minute debate.
This event is free to attend but strictly ticketed. Please register your details http://britisharchitecturenow.eventbrite.co.uk
