Emerson to headline London Met summit on studio culture
6a Architects co-founder Tom Emerson will deliver the keynote address at London Metropolitan University’s ‘studio culture’ conference next weekend
Taking place on 29 and 30 June, the two-day event features a range of workshops and presentations around studio-based teaching.
Introduced by school head Robert Mull, the conference includes a special focus on the relevance of the ‘crit’ and the studio as a place of learning through making.
Emerson (pictured) – who is a professor at ETH Zurich and previously taught at Cambridge university and the Architectural Association – will deliver an opening talk on 29 June.
The event is taking place within London Metropolitan University’s Daniel Libeskind-designed Graduate Centre and at the Faculty of Architecture and Spatial Design in Spring House.
Workshop leaders include Michael Corr & Fran Balaam of Pie and Adam Khan and David Knight.
Places are limited. Registration costs £40, or £20 for concessions.
